A Wee Bit About Discbound Notebooks and Planners
I got into using the Staples ARC notebook as a planner about 5 years ago. At the time there weren't really any “real” planners that used the discs to hold the pages together. Since then one of my favorite companies (Me and My Big Ideas) really started promoting their Happy Planner which uses discs too.
What I love about the full sized, 8.5″X11″ Staples ARC notebook is that I don't have to fuss around, making everything “planner sized”. I can spend my time working and using my planner as a tool rather than an art project.

Don't the Discs Rip The Paper?
This was the first thing I thought when I saw a video about this. NO! They don't rip the paper and you can pull pages out and put them in quite a few times before the edges of the holes wear down.
Maybe it is the shape? But they just work great!
Can you use the ARC and Levenger punches on Happy Planners?
All of the punches are interchangeable. That said, the ARC and Levenger are full sized so they are good for all three, the Happy Planner punch is shorter so if you are using for a full sized page you will have to punch it twice.
Does the ARC Notebook come set up to be a planner?
NOPE! When I first got started using mine, I never thought about it because I have my own planner pages I make on Etsy anyways. Doh. That said, there are so many different free and paid planner pages that it is EVEN BETTER to be able to choose your own style rather than being stuck with whatever the “normal” planner has!
